Bill Unruh is the Climate Outreach Leader for the Climate Action Program with the State of Hawaiʻi Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission and partnered with University of Hawaiʻi Sea Grant College Program. This role is part of a team which includes members from multiple state agencies, counties, and communities coming together to develop a Comprehensive Climate Action Plan for the State of Hawaiʻi.
Hawaiʻi has been Bill’s home for many years, although he is originally from Kansas. Previously Bill has worked at Chaminade University, the University of Hawaiʻi, various research vessels in Hawaiʻi, and most recently at the University of Hawaiʻi Institute for Astronomy. Bill has a passion for the outdoors, loves to hike, be on the ocean, learn new things, share his knowledge with others, and explore.
