Eileen Peppard is a sustainability specialist working on conservation issues for the University of Hawai‘i Manoa campus and across Oʻahu. Her work has included managing a team of students conducting power audits both on campus and in residential neighborhoods. Peppard mentors engineering students in classes and employs students as research assistants to conduct data analytics and visualization. Her team collaborates with the UH Sustainability Office to enhance campus sustainability through data-driven insights. Peppard is also involved in data analytics for various projects for the Hawaiʻi Natural Energy Institute.
Before joining Sea Grant, Peppard spent twenty years doing research and education in the field of aquaculture, primarily overseas. She holds a bachelor’s of science degree in biology from the State University of New York at Albany and a master’s degree in fisheries and aquaculture from Louisiana State University. She received training in renewable power systems at Solar Energy International in Colorado. Peppard joined Hawaiʻi Sea Grant in January 2009.
