Eileen Peppard is a sustainability specialist working on energy conservation issues for the University of Hawai‘i Manoa campus and in the local community. Her work has included managing a team of students conducting energy audits both on campus and in residential communities. Peppard mentors engineering students in classes and employs students as research assistants to conduct data analytics and visualization. Her team collaborates with the UH Sustainability Office to enhance campus sustainability through data-driven insights. Peppard is also involved in data analytics for various projects for the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute, where she is currently working on a hydrogen fuel cell bus project.
Before joining Sea Grant, Peppard spent twenty years doing research and education in the field of aquaculture, primarily overseas. She holds a bachelor of science of degree in biology from the State University of New York at Albany and a master’s degree in fisheries and aquaculture from Louisiana State University. She received training in renewable energy technologies at Solar Energy International in Colorado. Peppard joined Sea Grant in January 2009.
