Ruby Pap is a coastal land use extension specialist with the University of Hawai‘i Sea Grant College Program. Based on the Island of Kaua‘i with the County Planning Department, she serves as a liaison between researchers, government agencies, and Kaua‘i residents, to ensure that the most current scientific information is made readily available for coastal zone planning, management, and educational activities.

Ruby earned a bachelor of arts degree in environmental science from the University of Denver and a master of science degree in resource policy and behavior from the University of Michigan. She has twenty-two years of experience in coastal management in California and Hawai‘i, with thirteen years specifically focused on coastal hazards, planning, and education on Kaua‘i.
