As a PICH Fellow, Kalae is working with various staff at the DLNR Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR) in Honolulu, to assist with ongoing projects on issues affecting our coastal ecosystem habitats. She will focus on connecting marine science, community knowledge, and policy to support informed coastal management across Hawai‘i. She will engage with local stakeholders and contribute to efforts that strengthen the relationship between ecosystem health and community well-being.
