For her PICH Fellowship placement, Lorayne is with Mālama Maunalua in Maunalua Bay, on the southeastern shore of Oʻahu. Through the fellowship, she is working on the launch of their water quality monitoring and biocultural systems science program. Additionally, she will be assisting in Ciguatera research, education, and outreach in the Nalley Lab.

Lorayne graduated with a BA in environmental and sustainability studies from the University of Northern Colorado, where her work included water quality data, sustainable infrastructure and design, community engagement, and availability of higher education for minority groups.
