Terra Faraon is an Assistant Extension Agent with the University of Hawaiʻi Sea Grant College Program working as the Waiʻanae Moku Resilience Stewardship Coordinator specializing in resilient communities and economies. Her work focuses on community engagement and outreach, project management, holistic resource stewardship, capacity building and knowledge sharing, and policy support for the moku of Waiʻanae.
Terra has been working on the Waiʻanae coast for over 17 years. She started as a science teacher at Nānākuli High and Intermediate School in 2008, and in 2014 she received the Leeward District Teacher of the Year award. For the past 7 years, she has been with University of Hawaiʻi PLACES (Place-Based Learning and Community Engagement with Schools) program, working with many different community partners and schools to provide place-based learning opportunities to students, families, and communities along the coast.
