Terra Faraon is an Assistant Extension Agent with the University of Hawaiʻi Sea Grant College Program working as the Waiʻanae Moku Resilience Stewardship Coordinator specializing in resilient populations and economies. Her work focuses on public engagement and outreach, project management, holistic ecosystem stewardship, capacity building and knowledge sharing, and policy facilitation for the moku of Waiʻanae.
Terra has been working on the Waiʻanae coast for over 17 years. She started as a science teacher at Nānākuli High and Intermediate School in 2008, and in 2014 she received the Leeward District Teacher of the Year award. For the past seven years, she has been with University of Hawaiʻi PLACES (Place-Based Learning and Community Engagement with Schools) program, working with many different local partners and schools to provide place-based learning opportunities to students, families, and local groups along the coast.
