Brooke Cleveland is the Volunteer Assistant Coordinator for the University of Hawai‘i Sea Grant College Program’s (UH Sea Grant) Hanauma Bay Education Program (HBEP). She educates Hawai‘i’s local and visiting public about coral reef etiquette, natural resource management, and marine conservation at the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve. She also assists in recruiting, training and maintaining a large group of volunteers who are responsive and supportive of HBEP’s mission of enhancing appreciation, understanding and stewardship of Hawai‘i’s natural environment through public education.
Brooke Cleveland earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She was hired by Research Corporation of Hawai‘i to aid UH Sea Grant in 2010 as the Volunteer Assistant Coordinator for HBEP. She took a few years off to raise her two young daughters, and returned to her position in the Spring of 2017.
