Lauren Esaki was a 2013 Peter J. Rappa Fellow at the University of Hawai‘i Sea Grant College Program.
As a Rappa Fellow, Lauren worked closely with her mentor on compiling information and education materials for tsunami evacuation planning. She also supported research on methods and tools for participatory community engagement and mapping.
Since the Rappa Fellowship, Lauren graduated from the University of Hawai‘i with a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning and worked as a planner for the architecture design firm G70. She is currently pursuing graduate studies in Sustainable Design and Construction at Stanford University's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
