The NOAA Coastal Storms Program (CSP) develops outreach training and workshops that address multiple agency mandates and programs, seeking to make information regarding hazards and climate impacts more accessible to affected communities in the US and U.S.-affiliated Pacific Islands. Through its workshops and training forums, NOAA CSP strives to maintain outreach programs in which products based on locally identified needs are developed and provided to the appropriate user groups, with training on the use and application of those products and tools. Additionally, the CSP ensures Pacific Islands Region outreach is conducted in a way that is culturally sensitive to the issues and concerns of the people of the Pacific Islands, and is working to increase translation of information into native dialects to further its utility.
