The Coastal Storms Program (CSP) is a nationwide effort led by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to make Pacific Island communities safer and more resilient to hazards. This work is accomplished by bringing together organizations from all sectors and fostering partnerships for community collaboration. The major goals and objectives are:
- Reduce the impact of coastal hazards to Pacific Island communities, ecosystems, and economies.
- Improve the regional capacity to identify, plan, and respond to natural hazards.
- Develop better communication, awareness, and understanding of coastal hazards.
- Foster community resilience through outreach, education, and CSP product development.
